Geometry of Silence

Silence can have a structure. Geometry of Silence explores the relationship between space, proportion and absence. Horizons divide the image, distant objects become points, and large areas of sea and sky reduce the visible world to a few essential elements. The photographs are built from real places and real moments, yet their subjects gradually lose their ordinary scale and function. A boat, a bird, a line on the horizon or an empty stretch of water becomes part of a larger visual order. The geometry is not imposed on the landscape. It is discovered within it. What remains is not emptiness, but space made visible.
